The Orange Garden

Outside the historic center Rome is often less chaotic, but no less beautiful.

This is demonstrated by the Orange Garden, one of the most beloved by the Roman citizens.

Actually, even if it is called 'garden', for its intimate atmosphere, the Orange Garden covers 7,800 square meters of the Park Savelli.

Designed by the architect Raffaele De Vico, it was created in 1932 as an extension of a complex of the XIII century and with the Pincio and the Janiculum hill it offers one of the finest views of the city and the Tiber.

Thanks to the Oscar-winning film by Paolo Sorrentino ' The Great Beauty ', it is now the destination for search of the lock that offers a unique view of the dome of St. Peter. Lock which, truth be told, is out of the garden, at the gates of the Knights of Malta: to free this extraordinary view, were cut some of the bitter orange trees that give the name, and the smell, to the park.
